Campaign configuration and checkouts
Riseact offers advanced features for managing checkouts, simplifying the fundraising process for organizations. In this guide, we will explore how campaign configuration and checkouts work on Riseact.
Form configuration in the campaign
The donation form configuration is an integral part of every campaign. Each campaign directly defines its own data collection settings: you can decide which fields to show to the supporter and which ones must be required, and add custom ones. You can also specify the donation type (oneoff, monthly or yearly) and define the allowed amounts, including the ability to enter a custom amount.
Checkout
The checkout represents the donation session in which supporters can make donations. It is generated from the campaign configuration. During the donation process, the checkout can be in an open (OPEN) or closed (CLOSED) state. When a checkout is completed successfully, several operations take place: a donation (oneoff or recurring) associated with the campaign is created; a payment is generated if the transaction is immediate; if the supporter is not already registered in the system, a new profile is created, otherwise the payment is associated with the existing supporter. Finally, the checkout state is updated to "closed" and the campaign's total amount is updated on its page.
