Distributing applications
From the Applications section of the Partner Area you create and distribute the applications that integrate with Riseact. Each application belongs to your partner profile and uses OAuth 2 to authenticate and access the data of the organizations that install it.
For the technical creation of an application and the OAuth configuration, see the guide Creating a partner application.
Distribution types
When creating an application you choose its distribution type:
- Public — the application is made available to all Riseact organizations through the store. Before being published, it must pass an approval process by Riseact.
- Private — the application is available to a single organization, which must be specified at creation time. The organization must be one of those you manage.
Private distribution is the most direct way to deliver an application to a single client without going through the store; public distribution is designed for applications intended for multiple organizations.
Distributing a private application
- Create the application choosing the Private distribution type.
- Select the managed organization you want to target.
- The application becomes available to that single organization, which can install it.
Distributing a public application
- Create the application choosing the Public distribution type and complete the store listing (name, description, logo, homepage).
- Choose who can see it, from the Visibility box on the application page.
- If you want it on the store, press Submit for Approval.
Who can see the application
My organizations — every organization you administer finds it in its application store and can install it. No approval needed: you are choosing among clients you already manage.
The store — visible to every Riseact organization, and it needs our approval. Press Submit for Approval on the application page: you can attach a message, and we reply by email.
Installation in organizations
The installation of an application always happens on the organization side: it is the organization (or one of its administrators, including a partner that manages it) that starts the installation, through the application's install_url or from the store.
From each application's detail view in the Partner Area, you can monitor the number of active installations. Uninstallation remains under the organization's control.
